How to buy CO2IN?
To purchase CO2IN, first make sure that you have topped up your wallet. With that, it is as simple as opening the app, going to the Trading tab and clicking on the BUY button. In the screen that opens, choose how many CO2IN you want to purchase and confirm. Note that you cannot purchase more CO2IN than you have money for in your wallet and also more than are currently offered.
How to sell CO2IN?
To sell your CO2IN, find the Trading tab in the app and click on the SELL button. Choose how many CO2IN you want to sell, review the price and fee and confirm.
How is purchase and sale of CO2IN limited?
Because CO2IN is backed by EU emission allowances, a real traded asset, we are continually managing the amount of CO2IN that can be sold or bought at any given time. For most cases, during business hours (9-17h CE(S)T) on business days, you should not notice. However, outside business hours (at night, during the weekend), because trading of the underlying asset is halted and the trading desk is not continually staffed, it may prove difficult to buy or sell larger quantities of CO2IN.
Why is there a limited quantity of CO2IN for sale/purchase outside business hours?
There are several reasons why we cannot accomodate large CO2IN purchases/sales outside business hours. First, as the trading of the underlying asset - the EU emission allowances - is halted, there is no liquidity for us to cover any large CO2IN purchases/sales in the open market. As we pride ourselves on maintaining a 100 % covered position at all times, we offer only such volume that we can cover under our internal risk policy. We try to maintain some liquidity even during these times, but this is limited and may be bought out by another user. This is because the trading desk is not actively maintained outside business hours.
Why can my purchase/sale of CO2IN fail?
There are several reasons why your transaction may not complete successfully. Apart from the obvious - when you do not have enough Euro or CO2IN in your Wallet - there can also be a limited supply of CO2IN for purchase/sell outside business hours (see previous question). In rare cases, trading can also be halted temporarily. In any event, if you have any issues buying or selling CO2IN during business hours, do not hesitate to contact us. Any issues are temporary, so you don't have to worry about not making your sale or purchase.
Why does the price of CO2IN not usually change on the weekend and outside business hours?
The price of CO2IN is tethered to the price of the EU emission allowances, which is only traded during certain hours of any given business day. Outside of these hours, as there are no trades, there are no updates to the CO2IN price.
